Take a Hike: Staunton State Park

Colorado has a reputation for being a state of active and athletic people. From biking, to hiking, to skiing, Colorado is a mecca for outdoor activities.  Personally, I love hiking with my dog, Rory. This past weekend, I discovered my new favorite hiking place in Colorado. After the snow on Friday, I was thrilled to get outside to sunny and 70 on Sunday!

Staunton State Park is the state’s newest state park approximately 40 miles southwest of Downtown Denver. The approximately 4000-acre park that opened in May 2013 includes dramatic rock outcroppings, several streams and a waterfall.

Check out the beautiful photos I took along the Davis Ponds and Mason Creek trails. Rory and I had a great time and we even saw some deer!
