Getting Ready for Gameday: Hosting an NFL Party

The NFL 2014 Season is upon us, are you ready? Is your team going to make it to the Superbowl? Make plans now to host an NFL party!

Just as exciting as game day is the drafting of your fantasy football team. Host a draft party and get ready to fight for your favorite players. Which QB will go #1? Peyton or Aaron? Drew or Cam? After your fantasy football team is complete, invite your friends over to watch a game. Check your team’s schedule and pick a game with your top rival or favorite Sunday or Monday night games.

Consider your space.

Will your apartment be the perfect spot? You may need to arrange the furniture for optimal viewing, snacking, and socializing… and they may need to be three different areas. For your guests that plan to be enthralled by the game, plan to have additional areas away from the TV so not to disturb them. Whatever you do, don’t block the TV!

If your guest list keeps growing, consider renting your apartment community’s resident clubhouse for your event. Most clubhouses come equipped with large HDTVs, free WIFI, lounge seating, and select feature an equipped kitchen – perfect for hosting your get together. Select UDR apartment communities, such as 1818 Platinum Apartments in Anaheim, CA and 1900 McKinney Apartments in Dallas, TX offer theater rooms – for the ultimate viewing experience.

Plan out your menu.

You can plan an intricate dinner but most sporting event parties lend itself to snacking. Wings, nachos, and veggie trays are staples but you can visit Pinterest to find great party foods. You can make it sophisticated or create your own tailgating experience indoors. Have your guests bring their favorite sides or create your own chili-cook-off. And don’t forget the beverages!

Grab your favorite player’s jersey and get ready for the exciting 2014-2015 NFL Season. Is your team going to make it to the big game in Arizona on February 1st? As a Denver resident, I’m definitely behind my Broncos? Can your team match up with Peyton and his crew?
