Change up the Way You Party in NYC

We are all faced with the lingering question of what to do on a Friday night. While looking for something new that we hadn’t experienced before, (which truth be told was not the easiest task as native New Yorkers) we were determined to let destiny take us on an adventure. So we took to scouring the world of Groupons and Living Social activities that could be done on short notice.

As if it had been a calling from above, we clicked on a Quiet Events party that was being hosted at the Seaport. We were a bit skeptical about the concept, partying with headphones in a room full of people with the choice of your own DJ mixing side by side. But it fit the bill for the night. So we quickly purchased $10 tickets, and met up by the seaport just a five minute walk from 10 Hanover Square where the night was young. We presented our tickets, and in exchange were loaned a pair of headphones with neon lights that would change according to the station we tuned into. The outdoor space filled up quickly with party goers of every age and creed. What we instantly loved about it was that everyone was there for the same reason, to enjoy some of the best tunes and dance their pants off!

Inflatable balls were thrown about and glow sticks were handed out, making us feel like we had crashed an awesome wedding with the NYC skyline as the backdrop. Each DJ played a variety of music; from Top 40’s to movie soundtracks, Hip Hop to EDM all of which had the crowd letting go of any inhibitions and singing along to some of the classics. A night filled with fun and high energy, it gave us a fantastic portal to a moment in time where New Yorkers didn’t care how they sounded or looked, and truly just let go!

And so now we’re hooked and true lovers of this concept party. Tonight, we head across the river and follow the party into Astoria, Queens where we will be at Studio Square, a massive outdoor indoor venue that’s sure to make another great Friday night.
